Oracle Data Guard

Oracle Data Guard is a high availability solution that provides disaster protection for Oracle databases. It is a feature of the Oracle Database Enterprise Edition that allows you to create and maintain one or more standby databases that are synchronized with the primary database. In the event of a disaster, Data Guard can automatically switch over to the standby database to minimize downtime and data loss. Data Guard can also be used for planned maintenance activities, such as software upgrades, by temporarily switching over to the standby database while the primary database is being upgraded. This ensures that the system remains available to users during maintenance windows.
