g the post-PC era of rapid development in digital information technology and network technology, embedded systems have widely penetrated into scientific research, engineering design, military technology, various industries, commercial culture and arts, entertainment industry, and people's daily lives. As embedded products continue to develop and promote domestically and internationally, embedded technology is becoming increasingly relevant to people's lives. Due to its open source code and powerful network capabilities, Linux is widely used in many embedded network devices and has more advantages compared to other embedded operating systems. This paper mainly introduces the current situation and development trends of embedded system development at home and abroad. It also elaborates on the hardware structure, embedded operating system, and development process based on the ARM9 processor. Combined with the development of GPIO driver program for the embedded development board S3C2410, detailed discussions are made on the composition, implementation, debugging, and release methods of Linux character device drivers.
