Google led many powerful software and hardware manufacturers to join the OMS alliance and launched the Android platform mobile phone system. As a newcomer of the times, the Android mobile operating platform has unique advantages and broad development prospects. This paper focuses on developing a calculator based on the Android platform. The paper mainly explains the design and implementation of an Android calculator using object-oriented programming language Eclipse as the development tool. It first introduces the Android development platform and environment, as well as the important parts of an Android project. Then, it analyzes and designs the calculator system and program, followed by the systematic implementation of the calculator. The system is rigorously validated, and finally, the paper summarizes the work done. Overall, the integration of the calculator function on Android smartphones provides users with convenience and efficiency in daily calculations. The user-friendly interface and accurate calculation results contribute to the user experience on Android devices. As technology continues to advance, the development of Android applications, such as calculators, will continue to evolve, providing users with more practical and innovative features.
