Abstract: The study on image segmentation based on genetic algorithm explores the use of genetic algorithms as a method to determine optimal solutions in image processing. Genetic algorithms have numerous advantages such as robustness, parallelism, adaptability, and fast convergence, making them suitable for image segmentation to determine segmentation thresholds in the field of image processing technology. Image segmentation is one of the research subjects in image processing technology, and it plays a crucial role in image feature extraction, image recognition, and other image processing technologies. This research focuses on the effectiveness of image segmentation based on genetic algorithms, utilizing Matlab software for simulation experiments and comparing the results of different image segmentation algorithms. The experiments demonstrate that genetic algorithms are excellent at handling image segmentation, providing better results compared to traditional image segmentation algorithms.
