With the increasing importance of water resources in China, the rational utilization of water has become crucial. Many areas in China require water level monitoring, such as factory reservoirs, agricultural irrigation reservoirs, river water levels, etc. Therefore, using modern communication methods to measure and control water resources, and utilizing computerized system management to collect and monitor data such as on-site water levels at water level monitoring points, and storing, displaying, and querying water level data on a water level information management platform will be an important approach for scientific water resources management. This paper starts with considerations of economy and reliability, and based on experiments, designs a device capable of automatic water level control. The use of single-chip microcomputer technology in measurement and control systems is widely adopted due to its small size and high reliability. This paper analyzes and designs such a measurement and control system. Firstly, the paper briefly introduces the performance and development of the single-chip microcomputer used in the system; analyzes the principle of the ultrasonic sensor, and provides a brief explanation of the performance of the ADC0809 analog-to-digital converter chip used in the system. Secondly, the paper focuses on the systematic analysis and design of the measurement and control hardware and software, breaking down the components into modules. Each part of the circuit is introduced, ultimately realizing the hardware circuit of the system and drawing the circuit schematic diagram.
