Stepping motors are precise actuator components that convert electrical pulse signals into angular or linear displacement, with the characteristics of quick start and stop. Their driving speed and instruction pulses are strictly synchronized, with high repeatability in positioning accuracy, and the ability to achieve forward and reverse rotation and smooth speed adjustment. Their operating speed and step size are not affected by fluctuations in power supply voltage and load, making them widely used in analog-to-digital conversion, speed control, and position control systems. This paper analyzes the driving characteristics of stepping motors, the principles of chopper constant current subdivision driving, and the performance and structure of the hybrid stepping motor drive chip ULN2003AN. With the combination of the AT89C52 microcontroller, a hybrid stepping motor drive circuit is designed. Keywords: stepping motor; AT89C52 microcontroller; ULN2003AN driver.
