Based on the ARM9 processor and embedded Linux as the underlying operating platform, this paper proposes a design scheme for an embedded video player. The portable video player based on embedded technology has a small size, light weight, and convenient carrying characteristics, making it highly marketable in the IT industry. The paper first introduces the overall design scheme of the video player hardware and software, then elaborates on the process of building the underlying operating platform of the video player by porting Bootloader, Linux kernel, and creating a root file system. Finally, the design work of the entire video player is completed by porting open-source multimedia player software MPlayer and designing related controls. In conclusion, the paper summarizes the work done and points out the issues that need to be further addressed and improved in embedded player technology.
