Studying grammar in the traditional way doesn't do much for many students, and that's
why we've come up with an
entirely new approach. You know how when you're in a
new town
or
in a shopping mall, there is a map on a pedestal with an arrow indicating
"You Are Here"? The problem most students have is that they are literally lost in the
language. They know some
of
the details, but they don't really know how the puzzle
pieces fit together.
In
other words, they lack a good understanding
of
the big picture
of
English. This book provides a visual map, so you always know right where you are.

English has about half a million words, but nobody uses all
of
them. The average edu-
cated person
only uses about 2,500 high-frequency words, most
of
