The application of automated vertical warehouses is becoming more and more widespread in China with the development of the national economy. Utilizing vertical warehouse equipment can achieve rationalization of warehouse height, automation of storage and retrieval, and simplification of operations. The main components of an automated vertical warehouse include shelves, aisle stacker cranes, inbound/outbound workstations, and automatic conveyance systems with control systems. The electrical control system of this project mainly consists of Siemens PLC, stepper motor drivers, stepper motors, DC motors, and other devices. This undergraduate thesis on the design of an automated vertical warehouse provides a brief introduction, including background, research significance, and current status of the system. The hardware composition, structure, and principles of the system are elaborated and analyzed. The devices used in this system are introduced separately, focusing on the programming of the PLC. Finally, the knowledge and conclusions learned from designing this project are summarized and concluded.
