By 2031, the market for software-based features and services is projected to be worth $640 billion. This will create new opportunities for OEMs to collaborate with software firms and system integrators to develop innovative solutions for connected vehicles. In fact, 66% of OEMs are already planning to partner with software firms by 2026, highlighting the growing importance of software in the automotive industry.
The future of vehicles will be based on common software platforms, enabling seamless integration of various features and services. This will not only simplify the development process but also increase the flexibility and scalability of vehicles, allowing for greater customization and personalization.
