Single-chip based simple electronic clock design is an essential requirement in daily life, widely used in personal homes and public places such as offices, bringing great convenience to people's lives, study, work, and entertainment. With the advancement of digital integrated circuit technology and the use of advanced quartz technology, digital clocks have the advantages of accurate timekeeping, stable performance, and convenient portability. They are also used in timing, automatic timekeeping, and automatic control in various fields. Although there are ready-made digital clock integrated circuit chips available on the market at cheap prices and easy to use, considering that the timer function of a single-chip microcontroller can also complete the design of a digital clock circuit, it is necessary to design a digital clock. In this project, we will integrate the scattered knowledge of digital circuits that we have learned to design practical circuits, cultivate our ability to analyze and design circuits, write programs, and debug circuits systematically. Single-chip microcontrollers have a series of advantages such as small size, strong functionality, high reliability, and low cost. They have not only become widely used intelligent control tools in the industrial measurement and control field, but also penetrated into every corner of people's work and life, effectively driving the technological transformation of various industries and the upgrading of products, with broad application prospects.Keywords: single-chip microcontroller, digital clock.
