s well as the construction of new substations are increasing. Among them, a large part of the substations are specifically designed for certain regions or factories. This paper intends to conduct a feasibility analysis on the application of remote tripping protection in terminal substations, in order to improve the protective performance and enhance the reliability of relay protection, while also reducing the investment in some primary equipment to a certain extent. By installing a set of remote tripping protection between the power supply side and the transformer in the reconstructed or newly built terminal substations, the performance of relay protection can be improved and the reliability of relay protection can be enhanced. Moreover, with the premise of fully ensuring the reliability of relay protection in case of faults, a set of circuit breakers on the high voltage side of the transformer in the terminal substation can be eliminated. Therefore, whether from a technological or economic perspective, this is a matter worthy of attention. Keywords: Remote tripping, on-site identification, line transformer group, terminal substation In conclusion, the application of remote tripping protection in terminal substations can bring significant benefits in terms of improving protective performance, enhancing relay protection reliability, and reducing investment in primary equipment. It is a feasible and valuable solution to consider for the construction and reconstruction of substations in the current electrification infrastructure development. This paper provides valuable insights and recommendations for engineers and decision-makers in the field of electrical automation.
