The neighborhood power distribution system is essential for maintaining the normal life of residents. This system must ensure reliability, safety, and economy in order to prevent disruptions that could disturb the daily routines of residents, impact productivity, and even threaten social stability. This paper focuses on the design of a neighborhood power distribution system, taking into consideration the potential growth in residential load demand over the next 5-10 years. Based on the actual load of the neighborhood, electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, isolating switches, and current transformers were selected, and their dynamic and thermal stability were verified in various short circuit scenarios. The main wiring diagram of the neighborhood was created to illustrate the layout of the electrical equipment. Considering the large area of the neighborhood, the placement of transformers was based on the geographical location and load balancing, and a diagram of the cable trench layout and cross section was also developed. This comprehensive design ensures that the neighborhood power distribution system is able to meet the energy needs of residents for years to come.
