Digital clock has become an essential necessity in people's daily life, widely used in personal homes, offices and other public places, bringing great convenience to people's lives, study, work and entertainment. Due to the development of digital integrated circuit technology and the use of advanced quartz technology, digital clocks have the advantages of accurate timekeeping, stable performance and convenient carrying. They are also used in timing, automatic time reporting and automatic control in various fields. Although there are ready-made digital clock integrated circuit chips available on the market, which are cheap and easy to use, designing a digital clock using the timer function of a microcontroller is necessary. In this paper, we organically and systematically link the relatively scattered knowledge of digital circuits that we have learned for practical applications, in order to cultivate our comprehensive analysis and circuit design, programming and circuit debugging abilities. Microcontrollers have a series of advantages such as small size, strong functionality, high reliability and low cost. They have not only become widely used intelligent control tools in industrial measurement and control fields, but have also penetrated into every corner of people's work and life, effectively promoting technological transformation and product upgrades in various industries, with broad application prospects.
