In developed countries, the automatic vending machine has become an integral part of the retail industry. This avant-garde consumption method attracts numerous customers. Moreover, in response to global warming, the development of new automatic vending machines is committed to energy saving. This paper involves automation, energy saving and computer software development. The software can be more conveniently applied in the automatic vending machine. This paper systematically studies the design of the automatic vending machine using the Java language, and implements the functions of coin recognition, coin accumulation, automatic vending and change giving in the automatic vending machine. The program code of the software has flexibility and scalability, it can be reused, and when some new features are implemented in the entire system, it has little impact on the existing code.
