Abstract: This thesis focuses on the application of PLC in the control system of an eight-floor elevator. It explores the concept of PLC, the design steps for elevator control, and methods of hardware protection using PLC. The design process of both hardware and software for elevator control using PLC is specifically discussed, with detailed main hardware circuitry and analysis of primary input and output points. In the PLC elevator control system, the operational functions of the elevator are achieved through control software. To ensure a good correspondence between the control software and the elevator's operational actions, the software control program for the elevator is divided into display, call signal, up/down movement, and door opening/closing programs, each responsible for controlling the elevator's operation. The simulation design for the operation of an eight-floor elevator is carried out using a Mitsubishi FX2N-48MR PLC.
