However, having knowledge of only the microcontroller is not enough – it is also necessary to complement it with specific hardware structures and a combination of software and hardware. At a busy intersection, with vehicles moving back and forth and pedestrians bustling about, the traffic flows smoothly thanks to the automatic signaling system. There are many ways to control traffic signals. This system adopts a design using the 74190 chip for countdown control, with two chips connected for each direction. Additionally, the system utilizes the 74153 chip, as the analysis sets the final time digit to 5. Therefore, only one 74153 chip is needed to set the high order bit and lock the low order starting value to 5, while the high order bit can be preset based on feedback from the system. The green light time can also detect vehicle flow and display it through a dual-digit display. This system is practical, easy to operate, and has strong expansion capabilities.
