profile in Table 1.

CAFE: Characterization, Analysis, Forecasting, and Evalu-
ation of Energy Profile
In this section, we firstly create the energy profile based on provided data. Then we pro-
pose a novel model: CAFE, to comprehensively characterize, analyze, forecast, and evaluate
the energy profiles of CA, AZ, NM, and TX, based on the provided data set comprised of
605 variables from 1960 to 2009 [5].
4.1
Energy Profile Formulation
First of all, we formulate an energy profile for each state. The energy profile should
present a panoramic view of energy use. We macroscopically divide energy into renewable
(electricity, ethanol fuel, nuclear fuel, wood etc.) and unrenewable (oil/gasoline/petroleum,
coal, natural gas) ones. We extract items reflecting the global information about different
