This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of various types of stereo parking garages, including an overview of parking system principles, types, and characteristics. By comparing the characteristics of different stereo parking garages, it concludes that the lift and shift type is the best choice for ordinary residential areas, and explains in detail the working principles of a lift and shift stereo parking garage designed for ordinary residential areas. The paper elucidates the motion characteristics and functional requirements of stereo parking garages, and outlines the overall plan for the control system. It introduces the system components of the stereo parking garage, with detailed descriptions of the hardware components and software implementation. The methods and steps of implementing a stereo parking garage control system using a programmable logic controller (PLC) are discussed. This includes an introduction to the selection and operation principles of PLC, as well as its unique characteristics. Based on the working process of a stereo parking garage, a PLC-based workflow diagram for controlling the garage is created, accompanied by a program flowchart.
