This report outlines the process and results of a descriptive statistical analysis experiment using SPSS software. The purpose of the experiment was to gain an understanding of the analysis methods for trends and deviations within a dataset, as well as to become proficient in the basic steps of each analysis process and their connections and differences. The experiment focused on the statistical analysis of lung capacity data for 6 male and 6 female subjects. The data was input into the SPSS software, and exploration analysis was conducted to examine the trends and differences in lung capacity between male and female subjects. The exploration analysis revealed that all 6 data points were valid with no missing records. The analysis also showed that there was a significant difference in lung capacity between males and females, with males having higher lung capacity and a wider range, as well as a higher degree of skewness. This experiment served as an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge of statistical analysis techniques to a real-world dataset. The use of SPSS software allowed for practical experience in conducting statistical analysis and interpreting the results. Overall, the experiment provided valuable insights into the methods and applications of descriptive statistical analysis, and the use of SPSS software proved to be an effective tool for conducting such analyses. This experience has enhanced the understanding of statistical concepts and their practical applications in research and data analysis.
