Based on the current development of fingerprint recognition systems, this undergraduate thesis entitled "Design of Fingerprint Recognition System Based on Single Chip Microcomputer" presents an in-depth study of the algorithmic processes involved in automatic fingerprint recognition and the hardware circuit design of a standalone fingerprint recognition system. The emergence of biometric technology has revolutionized the field of identity recognition, as it utilizes an individual's unique biological features to verify their identity. This thesis provides an overview of the research status of automatic fingerprint recognition systems, as well as the algorithmic processes involved in fingerprint image segmentation and refinement. Additionally, it details the design of a hardware circuit for a fingerprint recognition system based on a single chip microcomputer, utilizing the TFS-M51 fingerprint recognition module and serial communication between the microcontroller and the fingerprint module. Through the use of an independent keypad, users can send instructions to the DSP chip of the fingerprint module in order to perform functions such as adding users, deleting specified users, deleting all users, user authentication, and user permission management. This system is a significant contribution to the field of biometric technology, as it combines software and hardware components to create an efficient and reliable standalone fingerprint recognition system.
