This thesis presents the development of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) control system using MATLAB and implementation of the system with a Digital Signal Processor (DSP). The traditional method of measuring current using resistance was improved by using current, resulting in more accurate readings. The control code was loaded into the DSP through the SCI loader and executed to drive the motor effectively. Real-Time Data eXchange (RTDX) was used to collect experimental data within the MATLAB environment. By analyzing the experimental results, various improvement methods were proposed to optimize the drive system. The coordinate transformation and Field Oriented Control (FOC) algorithms were utilized to achieve precise control of the PMSM. Through this study, a comprehensive understanding of PMSM control and its practical implementation using MATLAB and DSP technology was achieved.
