Building on this research analysis, we employ spectral subtraction for speech enhancement in this paper, presenting the basic principles and implementation process of spectral subtraction. Additionally, we use Voice Activity Detection (VAD) method for noise estimation. The entire algorithm is simulated and implemented using MATLAB, with simulation results showing that the proposed algorithm effectively removes background noise while ensuring minimal speech distortion, and the subjective listening effect is also satisfactory. In conclusion, this study on speech enhancement technology based on spectral subtraction provides a comprehensive analysis of different speech enhancement algorithms, focusing on the practical application of spectral subtraction for improving speech quality. The use of VAD method for noise estimation further enhances the effectiveness of the algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate the success of the proposed algorithm in removing noise and preserving speech clarity. This research contributes to the advancement of speech enhancement technology, with potential applications in various fields such as telecommunications, audio processing, and speech recognition. Further research can explore the optimization and refinement of the algorithm for even better performance in real-world scenarios.
