ED technology has become a common sight in daily life with its large screens and clear picture quality. Compared to traditional single-color neon lights, LED electronic screens offer better editability and updateability, as well as meeting economic market conditions. In order to facilitate the control of LED display systems using single-chip microcomputers, this design primarily applies the STC89C51RC single-chip to control the display of grids for numbers and text. Using a 16*16 dot matrix LED display screen, this design requires uniform brightness for each LED point, the ability to display sufficient text and numbers, stable display of text and numbers, complete display of each character, and scrolling display. The selected STC89C51RC single-chip features low cost, simplifying system maintenance and inspection. Additionally, this system only requires a small number of I/O ports and memory on a processor to expand system functionality. Keywords: STC89C51RC; LED dot matrix display; serial communication.
