FC-AV Video Object Sept. 998 rev 3.0 1 09/27/99
Object Type data for Type Byte
10hVideo, Uncompressed
1 Type 10h characteristics
Type 10h data represents video data which has not been compressed. Prime examples are defined in
ITU-601.
1.1 Object Type Defined word assignment:
Word 4 of the Object Information Block of the header may be used for SMPTE time code. Use is optional.
1.2 Data packing guidelines
Data packing shall follow Fibre Channel big Endian guidelines. Data transported in a serial manner,
such as SMPTE 259 shall follow the same general word ordering where possible.
1.3 Sample Packing, Video types defined in SMPTE and ITU
1.3.1 Frame start for Full content - Reference SMPTE 125M-1995
Complete encapsulation of all lines. Switching line reference is SMPTE RP-168-1993. The following
list defines the start point for encapsulation of the video frame(field) in to the defined video object:
1.3.1.1 Frame mode 525 line/29.97 Hz systems:
Video Object sample space begins at EAV line 11. (Follows switching line (10))
1.3.1.2 Field mode 525 line/59.94 Hz systems:
Field 1: Video Object sample space begins at EAV line 11. (Follows switching line (10))
Field 2: Video Object sample space begins at EAV line 274. (Follows switching line (273))
1.3.1.3 Frame mode 625 line/25 Hz systems:
Video Object sample space begins at EAV line 7. (Follows switching line (6))
1.3.1.4 Field mode 625 line/50 Hz systems:
Field 1:
Video Object sample space begins at EAV line 7. (Follows switching line (6))
Field 2:
Video Object sample space begins at EAV line 320. (Follows switching line (319))
1.3.2 Sample mapping active video only:
The following list defines the start point for encapsulation of the active only video frame(field) in to the
defined video object:
