99 PROGRAMS DIGITAL AUDIO EFFECT MODULE
FEATURES
Use of the famous ASAHI KASEI 24-Bit DSP with built in 20-Bit AD/DA stereo converters
Combination of low costs and highest performance "DIGITAL AUDIO EFFECTS" are put into practice
20 Bit Delta Sigma 64x Oversampling AD converter (inside DSP)
20 Bit Delta Sigma 128x Oversampling DA converter (inside DSP)
64x Oversampling ADC Digital Filter (inside DSP)
128x Oversampling DAC Digital Filter (inside DSP)
Sampling Rate 31.25 KHZ
Use of a 1MB SRAM Chip for high quality stereo REVERB and DELAY sounds
Only a single 5VDC powersupply is necessary
Audio signal "Overshooting" indication circuit on-board (CLIP - LED, only a LED is necessary)
Effect "On / Off " circuit on-board (Audio output muting), executable with a single switch to GND;
Two different switch types are selectable by jumper: Momentary push switch, or push-push switch;
The momentary push switch status (Mute On/Off), is also stored in the on-board EE-PROM.
No de - emphasis and pre - emphasis OP-Amp circuits are necessary
Three different display driver interfaces are available: (3 wire serial format)
- 2 lines 16 character LCD interface, which indicates all 99 preset names, plus an audio input level meter;
- 1 line 16 character LCD interface, which indicates all 99 preset names (4-Bit LCD mode);
- 2 digits 7-segment numeric display interface for preset numbers 1 - 99 indication.
Two easy program selection methods are available:
- Keypad built by 2 keys which count presets up and down;
- 2-Bit rotary shaft encoder with quadrature output ( w. or wo. a momentary push switch for muting on/off ).
Real 99 Stereo - Effect presets available, divided into 26 combination - and 63 single effect sounds;

Automatic audio muting activation during program changes and during the "First Power ON" process
Pin and board size compatibility with ACE16 and ACE32 effect boards;
The once selected preset number is automatically stored in an on-board EE-PROM.
All described display interfaces and program selection methods are selectable by user with on-board
Jumpers. A total of 8 different applications are available. For further details, please see page 12;
An integrated EE-PROM watchdog is bypassing the storage device if an error will occur.
The user is informed immediatly about the fault, and the effect board is continues working.

If 'Mute' is active, the current displayed preset number is flashing.
The flashing frequency is set to 0.5 Hz.

IMPORTAND LAYOUT AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
Use separate power supply connections for ACE99's Digital and Analog power terminals.
Use the 7805 voltage regulator as the 'Central point', and install the regulator as close
as possible to the effect board.
Do not interconnect Digital and Analog supply traces outside of the power supply.
Do always power up the Analog and Digital supply at the same time. (Terminals 5 and 15)
Note:
If only ones of both is under power, may cause a permanent damage to the board !
For audio ground IN / OUT connection use only ACE99's terminal 3.
Use separate power supply connection between the voltage regulater and the display
circuit.
Note:
Do not drop display current over the effect board power supply wiring !
If the Clip-Indicator is not used, replace the LED with a 10K resistor.
Please note:
Jumper must be set before board power up !
After power on, a post Jumper setting will cause
an incorrect function to the effect board.
