Abstract TOUGH2 is a powerful general numerical simulator for nonisothermal flows of multiphase multi
component fluids in permeable porous or fracturedmedia TOUGH2 family codes have been extensively applied
to geothermal reservoir engineering nuclear waste disposal environmental remediation problems and vadose
zone hydrology This paper provides a brief introduction to the code and summary of its development history

TOUGH 是 非 饱 和 地 下 水 流 及 热 流 传 输
Transport of Unsaturated Groundwater and Heat的英文
缩写 是一个模拟一维 二维和三维孔隙或裂隙介
质 中 多 相 流 multiphase 多 组 分 multi
component及非等温 nonisothermal 的水流及 热
量运移的数值模拟程序 而 TOUGH2 Pruess 1991
是其后续版本 TOUGH2 应用范围非常广泛 在地
热储藏 工程 geothermal reservoir engineering 核废
料处置 nuclear waste disposal 饱和非饱和带水文
saturatedunsaturated zone hydrology 环 境评价和 修
复 environmental assessment and remediation及二氧
化碳地质处置 CO

geological sequestration中均 有
成功的应用范例 目前 TOUGH2 及其相关的程序代
码 见表 1已被超过 30 个国家的 300 多个研究机
构使用 Pruess 2004
1 TOUGH2 的开发历史
TOUGH 代码的前身是由美国劳伦斯 伯克利国
家实验室 LBNL在 20 世纪 80 年代初期开发的名
为MULKOM 的模拟程序 该程序结构是基于对多组
分多相流的非等温运动控制方程 如果不考虑流体
组分和相的属性和个数的不同具有相同数学形式
的认识 TOUGH 和后续的TOUGH2 中有较多的方法
和思路是基于 MULKOM 程序开发而得 用于水气
两相流的MULKOM 版本于 1987 年以 TOUGH 软件公
开发布 Pruess 1987 它在美国 犹卡 山 Yucca
Mountain项目 美 国高放射性核废料地质处置项
目中的运用代表了 当时该程序的主要应用领域
之后 包括五个状态方程 EOS equation of states
功能模块的更新版由美国国家能源科技技术软件中
心 Energy Science Technology Software Center ESTSC
以 TOUGH2 软件向公众发布 1999 年已升级至 20
