This document aims at leading the first use of SIMFIA through two model-examples that will allow us to
explore the basic functionalities. It shall not replace a training session.

I. CRE ATI ON OF AN ACTI VE R ED UNDANCY
The system to model consists of two water pumps connected to a valve which is connected to a tank in
active redundancy.
1. CR EATION OF THE PHY SI CAL AR CHIT ECT URE
In this chapter are explained the firsts steps of the edition of a simple model: An active redundancy between
two pumps connected to a valve which is connected to a tank:
Start the Simfia software
Click on : MENU > SIMFIA (.SOF) > Create new Simfia model
Or Ctrl key + N
Save the model under the name: "Active_redundancy.sof" (Using the associated icon or: Files >
Save as > …). Take care to save the model periodically (Ctrl key + S).
Note: Use Ctrl key + O to open directly a model (.SOF).
