The digital FM radio designed and implemented in this project is based on a microcontroller. Traditional FM radios require manual tuning and have low receive sensitivity, resulting in a narrow frequency band. To overcome these limitations, the TEA5767 RF AGC circuit is utilized as it offers high receive sensitivity and flexible reference frequency selection, enabling automatic station searching. The STC89C52 microcontroller and TEA5767 are the main components used in this design. The microcontroller is connected to the TEA5767 using the I2C communication method. Through the control of the microcontroller, the TEA5767 can be manually or automatically tuned to different frequencies. Upon receiving the FM signal, it is amplified using the TAD2822 power amplifier and then outputted to a speaker. The LCD1602 display is integrated into the design to provide real-time frequency information during the tuning process. The use of the digital FM radio brings several advantages. Firstly, the automatic tuning feature eliminates the need for manual frequency adjustment. This greatly simplifies the operation process, making it more user-friendly. Secondly, the high receive sensitivity of the TEA5767 ensures a wider frequency band can be received, allowing users to access a greater variety of radio stations. Lastly, the integration of the LCD1602 display provides convenience and enhances the user experience by allowing them to monitor the current signal frequency. In conclusion, the digital FM radio designed and implemented in this project offers a more convenient and versatile solution compared to traditional manual FM radios. With the integration of the microcontroller and TEA5767, users can enjoy the benefits of automatic tuning and improved receive sensitivity. This design paves the way for a more user-friendly and technologically advanced FM radio experience. Keywords: digital FM, microcontroller, TEA5767 receiver, TDA2030AB power amplifier.
