The thesis "Simulation and Research of Process Control System Based on MATLAB" focuses on the simulation and analysis of typical objects in process control, namely a water tank level control system and a heat exchanger temperature control system. By establishing mathematical models and determining the transfer functions of the objects, the study utilizes MATLAB's Simulink software package for simulation research. In the water tank level control system, the transfer functions of single-tank, double-tank, and triple-tank objects are determined through mathematical modeling and analysis of experimental data. Simulation models of each system are built in Simulink, and the impact of controller parameters on the system's transient response is analyzed through the study of simulation curves. In the heat exchanger temperature control system, the transfer function of the object is determined using a reduced-order method based on the process of automatic control systems. Models of single-loop, cascade, and feedforward-feedback control systems are built in the Simulink software package, and conventional PID, practical PID, and Smith predictor are applied for simulation research. By comparing simulation curves, the characteristics of various control systems are analyzed. The research provides insights into process control systems, utilizing MATLAB for simulation and analysis. The study contributes to the understanding of control system dynamics and the optimization of control parameters. Key words: process control; MATLAB; simulation; water tank; heat exchanger.
