Improve the quality of software products through testing activities is a crucial task for testing personnel. Delivering high-quality software products to customers in a timely manner within limited testing time and resources is a primary goal for testing personnel. This dissertation aims to explore the requirements for high-quality software products and the role of testing in achieving this quality. The dissertation also discusses the importance of functional testing and performance testing in ensuring software quality. Functional testing is the minimum unit for ensuring software quality and is a critical barrier to ensuring alignment with requirements. It is the testing work conducted by testing engineers based on requirements or requirement specifications. Performance testing, on the other hand, is traditionally conducted in the final stage of qualitative testing and is not an independent work module in testing activities. Instead, it is combined with functional testing. Key modules in functional testing are important points in performance testing. The keywords for this dissertation are functional testing, performance testing, and software quality. In conclusion, this dissertation focuses on the role of testing in ensuring high-quality software products and highlights the importance of both functional and performance testing in achieving this goal. It provides valuable insights for testing personnel and software developers in understanding the requirements for software quality and implementing effective testing strategies to improve the overall quality of software products.
