Distribution of distributed generation has a profound impact on the distribution network, shifting it from a passive radial network to an active network with small and medium-sized power sources. This leads to uncertainties in the direction of current flow and increases the complexity of control and management of the distribution system. However, distributed generation also brings advantages such as improved reliability and green energy, making it crucial to study and analyze its effects. This report focuses on exploring and analyzing the steady-state impact of distributed generation on distribution networks through the use of Matlab simulation software to simulate power flow calculations. A 34-node distribution network model was selected, and the impact of single and multiple distributed generation access locations and capacities on network losses and node voltage conditions were analyzed.
