oundation for information transfer, the purpose is to transmit information, communication system is the general term for technical systems used to complete the information transmission process, and its role is to send information from a source to one or more destinations. Modulation and demodulation play a crucial role in the process of information transmission and are indispensable. Therefore, studying the modulation and demodulation processes of the system is extremely important. MATLAB is a scientific computing language that integrates powerful functions such as numerical computation, graph plotting, image processing, and system simulation. It provides great convenience for the analysis of modulation and demodulation processes in communication systems with its powerful matrix operations, graph visualization capabilities, and rich toolboxes. This paper first introduces the concept of communication systems, and then introduces modulation and demodulation. It then presents several common methods of modulation and demodulation. Due to the powerful features of MATLAB, detailed introduction to the MATLAB communication system toolbox is provided, along with the implementation of modulation and demodulation in communication systems based on MATLAB, using MATLAB simulation software for simulation.
