As the development of science and technology and the improvement of living standards, various remote control devices have gradually infiltrated into every aspect of people's lives, greatly facilitating people's lives. Traditional remote control devices use dedicated encoding and decoding integrated circuit chips. Although this circuit is simple to make, its key features are limited and can only be used for specific electrical devices, so its application scope is greatly restricted. On the other hand, remote control systems designed using microcontrollers have the advantages of flexible programming and the ability to set the number of operation codes arbitrarily. In this design, the AT89C52 microcontroller is used as the main control chip, responsible for decoding the infrared data and executing remote control operations. The infrared signal is generated using a commercially available remote control, and the encoding chip used is HS6221, which uses NEC encoding method. The integrated infrared receiver HS0038 is responsible for initial processing of the received infrared signal, such as reception, inversion, and amplification. In order to observe the infrared remote control effect more intuitively, this system also adds a digital tube to display the received infrared data. The 28BYJ48 stepper motor is used as the final control object of the infrared signal, and different values are emitted by the remote control to control the speed of the stepper motor. Keywords: microcontroller, AT89C52, infrared remote control, stepper motor.
