This control system uses the cost-effective ATmega16 microcontroller as the main control chip and employs a parallel series data output method. It can drive a large area of the two-color LED display at a low cost. The system can be connected to standard LED electronic display interfaces on the market, realizing at least 192×32 (two-color) matrix size control. It can drive the LED display to statically display graphics and text, as well as various dynamic effects of graphics and text. Additionally, it can modify display content anytime through a 232 communication connection with a PC, and can also update display content through an SD card.
LED electronic displays are widely used in public places such as shopping malls, schools, banks, post offices, and stations, and are increasingly being used by street shops to display product information and promotions. As a result, the market prospects for LED electronic displays are vast. This design of a control system for a two-color LED display based on the AVR microcontroller is intended to meet market demands while using the cost-effective ATmega16 microcontroller to lower production costs and improve market competitiveness.
