Abstract Distributed OLAP systems have become a popular choice for businesses looking to analyze large volumes of data efficiently. In order to ensure the smooth operation of these systems, researchers have been focusing on two key technologies: election algorithms and distributed heterogeneous database synchronization. Election algorithms play a crucial role in maintaining the stability of distributed systems. In the event of a crash or failure, these algorithms are able to quickly elect a new cluster coordinator to take over the responsibilities of the failed node. This ensures that the system continues to function smoothly without any interruption in service. On the other hand, distributed heterogeneous database synchronization technology is essential for providing reliable analysis data for OLAP systems. This technology allows data from different sources, formats, and locations to be synchronized and integrated seamlessly, allowing for a more comprehensive and accurate analysis of the data. The main focus of this research paper is to explore and analyze the key technologies involved in distributed OLAP systems. By delving into the details of election algorithms and distributed heterogeneous database synchronization, the paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of these critical technologies and their impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of OLAP systems. Overall, the research presented in this paper sheds light on the importance of election algorithms and distributed heterogeneous database synchronization technology in ensuring the success of distributed OLAP systems. By understanding and leveraging these key technologies, businesses can harness the full potential of their data for better decision-making and strategic planning.
