The optimization design of inventory in a paper box factory is essential to effectively manage the balance between excessive inventory and insufficient supply. This paper utilizes storage theory to analyze the current inventory management issues in Chinese enterprises and the research status of inventory optimization both domestically and internationally. It aims to establish a model for inventory optimization in a paper box factory, taking into account the unique factors that influence inventory in this specific industry. The paper first addresses the problems existing in inventory management in Chinese enterprises and reviews the current research on inventory optimization. Based on this analysis, the research objectives and content are outlined. The inventory and its influencing factors in a paper box factory are then detailed. By applying the relevant theories and methods of storage theory in operations research, an inventory optimization model is developed and integrated with the practical situation of the paper box factory. This leads to the identification of appropriate strategies for inventory optimization. Finally, recommendations for enterprise inventory optimization are proposed. The simulation study of the inventory system in the paper box factory provides valuable insights for decision-making by enterprise managers. The use of storage theory and ABC classification management methods offers a comprehensive approach to optimizing inventory and reducing total inventory costs. This paper contributes to the improvement of inventory management and customer service levels in enterprises, as well as the reduction of inventory costs. It provides a practical guide for managers in making effective inventory decisions, which are crucial for the overall financial health and efficiency of the enterprise.
