With the advent of the intelligent era, people are paying more attention to the efficiency of life. Traditional methods of ordering food are not only ineffective but also waste a lot of resources and manpower. Mini-programs make applications ubiquitous, readily available, and require no software installation or uninstallation. A meal ordering system based on the WeChat public platform, to some extent, has brought convenience to users. For businesses, being able to provide basic functions is very suitable for life service type stores, thereby reducing the operating costs of restaurants; reducing labor costs to attract customers. The paper clearly states the research content of the system at the beginning. Then, it analyzes the system requirements, clarifies "what to do", including business analysis, business process analysis, and use case analysis, further clarifying the system requirements. With a clear understanding of the system requirements, design is needed further, mainly including software architecture patterns, overall functional modules, and database design. The software architecture of the project adopts the B/S mode, and the overall functional modules use a top-down layering approach. Next is the implementation of the system and the writing of code to implement the functions. The final chapter of the paper summarizes the author's experience and conclusions of completing the paper and developing the project. Through the meal ordering system mini-program, substantial improvements in the efficiency of work in various aspects of restaurant management will be realized.
