Based on Single-Chip Microcomputer (SCM), this electronic odometer design aims to provide a more efficient and accurate solution compared to traditional mechanical odometers. By utilizing the AT89C2051 microcontroller as the main component and implementing a SPI serial bus, the odometer is able to accurately calculate and display the vehicle's total distance traveled. The system uses a magnetic-electric sensor to sample the signal generated by the vehicle's movement, ensuring precise measurement of the odometer reading. The LCD digital display provides a clear and visible indication of the total mileage, while the EEPROM chip X25045 is used to store the data, allowing for easy rewriting and preservation of information even when power is lost. The design of this electronic odometer offers advantages such as simplicity in structure, high accuracy, minimal error, clear display, and overall reliability. In addition to the hardware components, the software system of the odometer is also elaborated upon in this document. Overall, this SCM-based electronic odometer presents a more advanced and efficient solution for monitoring a vehicle's distance traveled and speed readings.
