Abstract The research on stream adaptation protocol in SUPANET is a key component in the integration of television networks, telephone networks, and traditional computer networks using dense wavelength division multiplexing technology. This study, conducted at Southwest Jiaotong University by Liang Wei for his Master's degree thesis in Computer Application, focuses on the role-based access control mechanism within the data flow adaptation layer of the SUPANET architecture. The SUPANET architecture aims to streamline and optimize data transmission across different networks by implementing a robust stream adaptation protocol. By studying the role-based access control mechanism, the research delves into how different roles within the network can be assigned specific permissions and privileges to ensure secure and efficient data flow. The research conducted by Liang Wei under the supervision of Dou Jun at Southwest Jiaotong University provides valuable insights into the design and implementation of the stream adaptation protocol within the SUPANET architecture. By considering the specific requirements of different network roles, the study offers practical solutions for enhancing data transmission efficiency and security. Overall, this Master's thesis contributes to the ongoing development of the SUPANET architecture and sheds light on the importance of role-based access control in ensuring smooth and secure data flow within integrated networks. The findings of this research have significant implications for the future of network architecture and data transmission technologies.
