In recent years, with the rapid development of the automobile industry in China, the number of scrapped cars that need to be dismantled and recycled has been steadily increasing due to the rising number of vehicles in use. Therefore, vigorously developing the scrap car recycling and dismantling industry in China will have broad market prospects and is a highly potential new economic growth point. According to relevant data, the material recycling rate of scrapped cars in developed countries is generally over 80%. In the United States, the automobile parts recycling industry has formed a multi-billion-dollar annual profit industry. In Germany, by the end of 1995, a network for recycling scrapped cars was established throughout the country, capable of recycling nearly 2.5 million cars produced annually. Industry insiders have stated that Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz cars sold in Germany use mostly recyclable parts. In France, some car companies have established scrap car recycling centers in collaboration with recycling companies, with close to 75% of the parts being reused. In contrast, the recycling rate of automobiles in China is relatively low. For example, in 2004, Henan Province recycled a total of 12,235 scrapped vehicles, accounting for only 24% of the total number of vehicles that should have been scrapped that year. The remaining 76% of scrapped cars were dispersed through various channels. It is crucial for China to improve the utilization rate of recycled cars and establish a more efficient and environmentally friendly scrap car recycling and dismantling system. This will not only help reduce the environmental impact of discarded vehicles but also create new opportunities for economic growth and innovation in the industry. By learning from the experiences of developed countries and implementing effective recycling processes and technologies, China can work towards achieving a more sustainable and resource-efficient automobile industry.
