The project described in the steel structure calculation book example is a three-story steel frame supermarket design, with dimensions of 64.00m in length, 30.00m in width, a floor height of 4.5m, a building height of 14.4m, and a total floor area of 5760.00m2. The design and structural design of the steel structure building were carried out comprehensively. The main structure adopts a steel frame structure with reinforced concrete cast-in-place floor slabs. The structural scheme was first determined, followed by load statistics, beam and column section selection, and stiffness verification. The internal forces of the frame under dead and live loads were calculated, as well as the internal forces under wind and seismic loads. The most adverse combination of internal forces for the components was determined after combining the internal forces. Finally, beam and column section verification, node design, floor and floor reinforcement calculations, and construction drawings were carried out. The vertical load effects were calculated using the layering method, while the horizontal load effects were calculated using the D-value method. Load combinations considered varying load effects controlled combinations and permanent load effects controlled combinations. In the calculation of live loads, the full load method was adopted.
