Abstract: This paper is a study on the automatic steel rolling machine system based on the Siemens S7-200 PLC structure. It provides an overview of the origin and development of automatic steel rolling machines, as well as the current status of its development in China. The paper explores the design of the automatic steel rolling machine system based on the Siemens S7-200 PLC, detailing the basic components, characteristics, and working principles of PLC. The document also delves into the detailed design process of the automatic steel rolling machine system. The paper thoroughly introduces the hardware components of the automatic steel rolling machine and completes the external wiring diagram of the PLC. The programming of the PLC ladder diagram was done using the Siemens PLC ladder diagram professional compilation software STEP7. The basic principles and working processes of the automatic steel rolling machine are elaborated upon. The role of the programmable controller in the automatic steel rolling machine is explained in detail. The program covers the majority of the processes involved in the operation of the automatic steel rolling machine.
