Animation is a unique form of art that encompasses various disciplines such as visual arts, photography, and literature. It requires a special kind of creative thinking and is an integral part of the entire animation production process. One crucial aspect of animation production is the use of a storyboard script, which transforms the written script into a visual representation that combines both sound and images. This process is a crucial part of the pre-production phase of animation, as it helps convey the director's vision, provides a reference for the technical requirements of the animation production, as well as aids in budgeting for the overall length of the animation and production costs. Additionally, the storyboard script allows the production team to understand the director's intent, clarify their roles and responsibilities, and establish clear divisions of labor. The design of a storyboard script for animation is not arbitrary and requires a foundation of professional knowledge to support it. This involves understanding the principles of utilizing animation shots to provide a solid foundation for the creation of high-quality animation. This paper focuses on the role of storyboard scripts in animation production, and thoroughly explores the design of storyboard scripts, focusing primarily on aspects such as scenes, angles, composition, and lighting. Furthermore, the paper also delves into practical applications of storyboard script design for animation, and analyzes the animation short film "Circle" to identify and address any existing design issues. Keywords: storyboard script, animation, production.
