The TJA1051T CAN transceiver, also known as the TJA1051, TJA1145, is a specially designed high-speed CAN transceiver by NXP for the automotive electronics field. It serves as an interface between the CAN controller and the physical CAN bus, offering several key features that set it apart from other CAN transceivers.
One of the standout features of the TJA1051T is its ability to maintain ultra-low power consumption in Standby and Sleep modes, with even lower power consumption in Sleep mode compared to Standby. This makes it ideal for applications where power efficiency is crucial.
Furthermore, the TJA1051T supports selective wake-up functionality in compliance with the ISO11898-2:2016 standard for CAN partial networks. This allows for efficient power management and can prevent unnecessary wake-ups of nodes on the network.
For the TJA1145T/FD and TJA1145TK/FD variants, there is support for CANFD-Passive functionality, ensuring that nodes can remain in normal sleep mode without being erroneously woken up by the CANFD bus. This feature is essential for maintaining network stability and efficiency in mixed CAN and CANFD environments.
The TJA1145 also provides interfaces for connection to 3.3V or 5V microcontrollers, with control and status retrieval capabilities through the SPI interface. This allows for easy integration and control of the CAN transceiver within a larger system.
In terms of physical layer implementation, the TJA1145 meets the ISO11898-2:2016 and SAE J2284 standards, ensuring stable communication at CANFD 2M baud rates. This makes the transceiver suitable for high-speed CAN applications, particularly in automotive systems where reliability and performance are paramount.
