As the production automation level continues to rise, the application range of PLC has become more extensive. This design is based on Siemens S7-300 software and aims to develop a PLC automation control system for the assembly process of carbon anodes in an aluminum plant. The system mainly focuses on controlling the tray cart and track motors. By designing and calculating the control system, the complete electrical schematic and flow chart of the control system are initially determined. Based on the requirements of the anode assembly process, a set of automation control system suitable for this assembly process is developed using STEP 7. In this design process, there are many switch input and output points, so a modular structure PLC is selected to improve the efficiency and flexibility of the system.
