global water resources are becoming increasingly scarce, countries around the world are actively exploring effective water-saving methods and measures. The intelligent irrigation control system is developed to solve the shortage of water resources and improve irrigation efficiency. The single-chip microcontroller intelligent irrigation control system studied in this paper monitors the temperature and humidity of the soil in real time, sets the appropriate humidity lower limit value according to the actual temperature value, and performs irrigation according to the set humidity value. This intelligent irrigation control system is based on the STC89C52 single-chip microcontroller and mainly consists of temperature and humidity sensor DHT11 module, keypad input module, display module, water pump module, etc.; software is programmed in C language. The function of this system is to automatically start the system and irrigate if the detected soil humidity value is lower than the minimum humidity value set by the system. Through testing of the hardware, the system can successfully achieve its target function. In conclusion, the intelligent irrigation control system based on single-chip microcontroller provides an effective solution to the water scarcity issue in agriculture and improves irrigation efficiency. This system effectively monitors soil temperature and humidity, and automatically initiates irrigation when the soil humidity falls below the set threshold. The use of the STC89C52 single-chip microcontroller and various modules such as temperature and humidity sensors, keypad input, display, and water pump, along with the programming in C language, contribute to the successful functioning of the system. Overall, this system demonstrates the potential for efficient and sustainable water management in agriculture, critical for addressing the challenges of water scarcity and improving agricultural production.
