This design project focuses on the water supply, drainage, and fire engineering design of a sixteen-story comprehensive building. With the increasing scarcity of water resources in China, particularly in urban areas, the efficient use of water has become a crucial factor in urban development and economic growth. Therefore, while meeting the water needs of the building, water conservation is also a top priority. The selection of the best design solution must meet the requirements of reliability, cost-effectiveness, water and energy conservation, pollution control, ease of maintenance, and durability. In this design, the water supply system adopts a zoned water supply method, with the lower zone connected to the municipal water supply network and the upper zone utilizing water pumps and tanks. The internal domestic wastewater is treated through a separate drainage system to ensure effective disposal. The indoor fire protection system includes fire hydrants and automatic sprinklers to enhance the safety of the building. Overall, this design project aims to create an efficient and sustainable water supply, drainage, and fire protection system for the sixteen-story comprehensive building. It addresses the critical need for water conservation and fire safety in urban areas, offering a comprehensive solution that aligns with the principles of resource efficiency, environmental responsibility, and long-term usability. Through the implementation of this design, the building can operate effectively while minimizing its ecological footprint and ensuring the safety and well-being of its occupants.
