Abstract: With the increasing demand for smart, comfortable, and safe living environments in recent years, the development of smart homes has become more prominent. However, as smart homes evolve, the need for environmental monitoring data has increased significantly. This requires a convenient, practical, and cost-effective product to meet these demands. Wired sensor systems require extensive wiring, which results in high installation costs and maintenance difficulties. Moreover, it is not always feasible to wire certain buildings. As the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to progress, Zigbee technology has gained popularity due to its low power consumption, low cost, and low-speed short-distance communication capabilities. Wireless sensor networks based on Zigbee offer low maintenance costs, flexible networking, and easy deployment, making them ideal for wireless smart home applications. The integration of Zigbee technology with smart home devices shows promising future applications. This paper selected Zigbee wireless communication technology to establish a wireless smart home network, aiming to enhance environmental monitoring and improve the functionality of smart buildings.
