Overview
1.1 UTS6710 HDTV System Diagram
The UTS6710 stacks a subsystem of a 1333MHz 64MB DDRII over a high integrated ATV processor
in a package (System-In-Package) for the Analog television Multimedia platforms, featuring analog
NTSCPAL/SECAM demodulator with Motion-adaptive 3D comb video decoder, worldwide multi-standard
analogue audio decoder, a multiple format video decoder, Universal Audio Decoder(UAD), RDA 9th
generation Digital Native Video Engine (DNVETM), three HDMI1.4a ports with mobile high-definition
(MHL) 2.1 compliant extension on port A & port B; a triple-ADCs for one YPbPr, one VGA input, and two
AVs; an audio codec with 3 L/R Line-ins typically for one YPP/AV1 RCA audio input, one AV2 audio
input, & one PC audio input, and a stereo speaker output, and 1 stereo L/R Line-outs typically associated
with CVBS output; an audio I2S controller with 7.1 channels; an I2S output port & a SPDIF output
interface; two USB 2.0 host ports; a SPI flash controller interfacing a 4MB NOR flash in minimum; and
6/8/10 bit LVDS links, etc. Interrupt-based auto-detection of the plug-in/out of PC, YPP, & AV ports is
supported, respectively.
The UTS6710 supports a worldwide analog demodulating/decoding multi- standards including 1)
NTSC analog video, BTSC analog audio; 2) PAL analog video-PAL(B,D,K,G,H,M,N,I,Nc) & SECAM
analog video-SECAM(D,K,L/L’), PAL analog audio-BTSC, EIA-J,A2MN,A2BG,A2DK 1/2/3, & Nicam
BG/DK/I/L. The integrated 9

DNVEN & LVDS transmitter further transforms, and displays the
demodulated & decoded video streams to various sizes of panels, being comprising various advanced
video processing functionalities, such as Noise Reduction, De-interlacer, Scalar, Sharpness/Dynamic
contrast enhancement, and color management, etc.
The integrated multiple format video decoder supports the HEVC, H.264, MPEGII, AVS, AVS+, and
Divx in addition to various legacy video formats as shown in Table 1. The integrated Universal Audio
Decoder supports the DTS, EAC3, and AAC, in addition to a variety of legacy audio formats as shown in
Table 2. Audio effect post-processing for loudspeaker is supported, such as Volume, Balance, Mute, EQ,
Virtual Stereo, Treble/Bass, and AVL. A UTS proprietary, high performance/high quality surround, called
Maximus Surround is supported, in addition to the DTS TruSurround HD. Additionally, Table 3 details
the supported media containers (file formats), Table 4 the pure audio containers (or file formats), Table 5
the PHOTO formats, Table 6 the TEXT formats, and Table 7 the file formats.
The 2.23 Gb/s receiving bandwidth of the three HDMI 1.4a ports supports packed pixel mode for
MHL 2.1a compliance and up to 1080p@60 36b in HDMI Port A, Port B and Port C.
The UTS6710 stacks a 64MB(512Mb) DDRII-1333 KGD (Known good die) over a high integrated
ATV processor in an optimized QFP-128 pin-out fitting a perfect board placement & routing. The
UTS6710 SoC, being devised with the 1.0v STB(StandBy) power plane and the 3.3v STB power plane,
low current consumption in operating mode and standby mode, and 24MHz crystal base, etc simplifies
the power delivery subsystem, reduces the external component quantities, & board estate of an ATV
platform based on UTS6710, and thus ultimately decreases the overall BOM cost thereby, as highlighted
